The LNG carrier and tanker owner made MYR 498m ($149m) against MYR 430m in the preceding quarter.
Revenue rose from MYR 2.16bn to MYR 2.18bn.
MISC attributed the better performance to higher earning days in the LNG sector and improved freight rates in its petroleum business.
Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 1.8bn, up from MYR 1bn.
MISC said loss on ship disposals for the period was MYR 350m.
