Japan's Kyoei Tanker has pushed up profit in the first six months as revenue grew.

The company said net earnings were JPY 545m ($4.73m) to 30 September, from JPY 118m in the same period of 2013.

NYK-linked Kyoei logged revenue of JPY 6.55bn versus JPY 6.14bn the year before.

It is forecasting profit of JPY 750m in the year to 31 March.

Kyoei operates five VLCCs, four products tankers and six bulkers, with an LPG carrier on order.
