The 18 men have refused to leave the 51,000–dwt ship (built 2008), anchored in Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay, for nearly three weeks.
But on Wednesday they said they would sail the tanker to Singapore for redelivery as per orders, to avoid “destructive legal action,” according to The Age newspaper.
The Maritime Union of Australia, representing the crew, was due in the Federal Court on Friday.
