Market sources say the dispute stems from a fixture involving the 30,350-dwt chemical tanker MTM Hong Kong (built 2000).

They tell TradeWinds that LDC hired the vessel to transport vegoil from Argentina to northwest Europe in early 2011.

Before the voyage began the tanker encountered delays in West Africa while discharging a cargo related to a previous fixture.

MTMM notified LDC about the issue and proposed new laydays but the charterer failed to respond and hired another ship to transport the cargo instead.
