The company said the LR2 STI Alexis (built 2015) will begin a voyage for 52 days at a daily rate of $33,500.
According to Scorpio’s website, the highest rate secured by its other LR2 tankers to date is $21,050.
The STI Alexis was built at South Korean shipbuilder Daehan.
Scorpio also extended the charter of the 104,895-dwt Swarna Jayanti (built 2010) for six additional months.
