That was the word this week from Genmar chairman Peter Georgiopoulos in an interview that followed news about the birth of Gener8 Maritime.
Georgiopoulos and chief financial officer Leo Vrondissis — who will remain CFO of Gener8 — traced the deal’s origins while voicing unabashed praise for Navig8 and principals Nicolas Busch and Gary Brocklesby.
“The Oaktree relationship didn’t have that much of an impact,” he told TradeWinds Wednesday.
