Costain takes over from Arild Vik has quit the post at the US-listed shuttle tanker master limited partnership in February.
He has served on KNOP’s board of directors since February 2013 and has an extensive track record in the tanker industry.
Costain has served as finance director of Tankers (UK) Agencies, which acts as agents to Tankers International Pool, since April 2005.
