The bulker and tanker owner booked net earnings of CNY 334.65m ($52.4m) compared to CNY 73.5m in the first half of last year.
CSDC managed to benefit from a strong tanker market and survive the tough dry market, as it surpassed its own profit projection of CNY 250m.
The company received government subsidies of CNY 938.6m during the period as a reward for its fleet renewal programme.
