Japan’s Meiji Shipping has seen net earnings jump on higher revenue in the first half.

It said profit to 30 September was JPY 2.49bn ($20.7m), from JPY 95m in the same period of 2014.

Revenue from its mixed fleet of tankers, bulkers and car carriers rose to JPY 16.72bn from JPY 13.9bn.

But for the full year it is forecasting profit of only JPY 2.3bn,
