US-listed Scorpio Tankers (STNG) will let options for four MR products tankers expire.
It said the quartet of 52,000-dwt vessels had to be declared at Hyundai Mipo in Korea by December, but the contracts will not now be made firm.
STNG has 12 products tankers on order, including eight MRs, with deliveries running into 2017.
At the start of November, it exercised four other options to build MRs in a deal worth $144m, or $36m per vessel.
