The Port of Gothenburg is set to double the size of its crude oil storage capabilities with the opening of a second underground cavern.
The cavern, which is 600,000-cbm in capacity, will be operated by independent storage company Scandinavian Tank Storage.
Located immediately beside the Port of Gothenburg, the underground storage facility is one of two caverns at the ports disposal.
The second of the two caverns, which boasts a storage capacity of around 800,000-cbm, has been used for crude oil storage since 2009.
