US classification society ABS has grown its fleet by 5% in 2015.
The company said its total tonnage passed 230m gt last year.
The largest expansion came from tankers, gas carriers, boxships, bulkers and offshore support vessels.
It welcomed 841 new units to the fleet, meaning it classes 12,614 in total.
And its newbuilding orderbook rose 15% year-on-year to 57.2m gt.
