Japan's Asahi Tanker has sold a 13-year-old MR tanker in what appears to be a renewal of the company's fleet.
The Iwagi-Zosen-built 48,000-dwt Akama (built 2003) is believed to have fetched $11m.
UK-based online platform VesselsValue says the tanker is worth $11.7m.
The ship is due for special survey in November 2018.
Asahi has two MR tankers on order at domestic Minami Nippon Shipyard for delivery in 2017 and 2018.
