Latvian Shipping Company (LSC) has posted a loss in the first half due to fleet impairment charges.

The Riga-based products tanker owner said the net deficit to 30 June was $8.32m, compared to an $8.85m profit a year ago.

Revenue rose to $47.35m against $45.81m in 2015 thanks to higher spot voyage earnings during the winter season in the western hemisphere and favourable time charter rates.
