The historic Paris Agreement on climate change signed by world leaders last year may now be just weeks from entering into force. India ratified the deal at the United Nations on Sunday, following the landmark commitments of the US and China.
With European Union states set to ratify the accord in the next week, it will take the number of signatories over the threshold of the 55 countries responsible for 55% of greenhouse gas emissions.
