Maersk Line is looking at possibly ordering feeder containerships.

Industry sources say the liner giant has approached shipyards in South Korea and China for four 3,400-teu newbuildings. It is unclear if the deal includes options.

TradeWinds is told that Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) and Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering were asked to quote on price, which was said to be in excess of $40m for each ship, while Chinese shipyards are seeking between 10% and 20% less than their Korean rivals.
