Hanjin Shipping is slowly being stripped of its boxships, with more than 50 of its fleet of 97 containerships being returned to owners.

Figures from Hanjin show that around 53 chartered containerships had been issued with “return to owner” notices as of 4 October. Another 14 containerships were “waiting in open seas”, while 21 vessels are described as “underway” or preparing to berth.
