Officials on the project say the team working on the 1.2-million tonnes per annum (mtpa) PFLNG Satu is about to start introducing gas into the unit.

“First LNG will definitely be [produced] this year,” one said.

The 365-metre-long LNG floater, which was built by DSME in partnership with Technip, looks set to become the world’s first FLNG unit to be put into operation.
