Much speculation this week centred on the 320,000-dwt tanker Shanghai (built 2015) less than a month after a previous round of negotiations failed to produce a deal.
Brokers were connecting a Nigerian bidder to the tanker at a price in the region of $60m.
However, sources close to the transaction told TradeWinds that no agreement had been reached and the ship is expected to be placed on the market once again.
