October’s net loss of 15 rigs means offshore support vessels (OSVs) have seen their primary market shrink again, according to the latest monthly figures from US oil-services giant Baker Hughes Inc (BHI).

The US market has seen a significant uptick, while the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East are sticking the closest to historical numbers.

The offshore downturn has taken a heavy toll on offshore drilling, which is one of the most important demand drivers for OSVs.
