Unipec, the world’s biggest VLCC charterer, has prevailed against US “briefcase broker” Pan Oceanic Chartering in a London High Court case based on a scuttled contract of affreightment (COA) with the Tankers International (TI) pool.
Pan Oceanic had complained that Unipec breached a huge three-year COA with TI for up to 11 West African crude shipments per month starting from 2010, resulting in alleged damages of between $6.1m
