Norwegian shipyard group Kleven has an orderbook worth between NOK 10bn and NOK 11bn ($1.17bn to $1.29bn) after clinching a contract with domestic ferry company FosenNamsos Sjo to construct two battery-driven vessels.


Kleven chief executive Staale Rasmussen confirms the deal but declines to reveal the price of the ferries, which will be 106 metres long and have capacity for 130 cars.

The
