Russia’s Yamal LNG project is moving to decide on the final four LNG carriers it requires to operate as shuttle vessels for its Arctic-based liquefaction project.

TradeWinds understands that Japanese shipowner NYK has joined the fray, working in partnership with compatriot trading house Itochu on the business.

Shipowners Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), Dynagas and Teekay LNG, which already have been selected to provide LNG tonnage against time-charter contracts with the project, also have been discussing the business.
