The Ulsan shipbuilder is said to have signed a letter of intent with Bernhard Schulte for a 7,500-cbm newbuilding for delivery in the second half of 2018. The Hamburg-based owner is ordering the ship against a charter to bunker supplier Bomin Linde LNG.
Shipyard officials declined to comment on the deal when contacted by TradeWinds.
The cost of Schulte’s LNGBV has not been disclosed but is understood to be below $40m.
