Justice Abhilasha Kumari of the High Court of Gujarat ordered the 35,000-cbm Maharshi Bhavatreya (built 1991) to be released a day after it was arrested on 24 November.
The owner furnished a security of around $86,200 with the court.
The ship was seized following a lawsuit filed by Singapore-based Columbus Engineering & Trading (Centra), which claimed Varun owed it around $66,000 for supplies to a sistership.
