Owners lock horns over Hanjin capesize bulker

South Korean bank and world’s largest shipbroker caught in a legal bind after selling the same vessel to two different buyers

A fight has broken out over the sale of a former Hanjin Shipping capesize bulker, leading a UK court to slap a ban on any deals being concluded on the ship until a dispute over the purchaser is resolved.

Industry sources tell Trade-Winds that Idan Ofer-controlled Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) agreed to buy the 179,147-dwt Hanjin Cape Lambert (built 2009) for $17.5m.
