Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has reached agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to build a series of mega-containerships and medium-range (MR) IMO II-type tankers worth around $650m.
According to sources familiar with the talks, the Iranian shipowner has signed for four 14,400-teu boxships and six 50,000-dwt tankers with the world’s largest shipyard for delivery from the third quarter of 2018.
