Russia’s Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T) has netted a much-watched time-charter contract for at least one LNG carrier in a quarter that has seen an uptick in term activity for LNG tonnage.

Brokers say GM&T has been selected to supply a vessel to the ExxonMobil-led PNG LNG project in Papua New Guinea.

The Russian trader is said to have offered in a sublet of either the 170,000-cbm ice-class 1C Velikiy Novgorod or sistership Pskov (both built 2014).
