Industry players say the Greek owner is not going ahead with one firm 115,000-dwt long-range-two (LR2) plus one option at the yard. Byzantine’s request to have the ships built to Tier III rules is understood to have caused the project to fail.
Sources say Byzantine originally booked Tier II vessels for delivery at the end of 2017 or early 2018.
