Korea Line Corp (KLC) is pressing ahead with its plans to develop a liner operation by buying secondhand containership tonnage.
The Seoul-based bulker and gas ship operator is considering an offer to purchase the DSME-built 4,380-teu sisterships Stadt Marburg (built 2009), Stadt Coburg and Stadt Freiburg (both built 2010). It will also likely look to charter vessels.
The panamax boxships were put up for sale by administrators for KG (limited partnership) owning companies appointed in late October by Hamburg-based managing owner Ahrenkiel Steamship Group.
