The first commercial LNG exports from US shale gas, the first floating LNG production and huge new liquefaction projects coming on stream: 2016 has been an exciting year for this growing sector.

Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass “Train 1” plant on the US Gulf Coast loaded its pioneering LNG cargo in February. In October, a second train has just been given the go-ahead by regulators to start operations, with a third scheduled to come on stream in 2017.
