Lloyds Banking Group is making a fresh attempt to sell the first of a trio of steam-turbine driven LNG carriers that have been on long-term bareboat charter to oil major BP.

Shipbroker Affinity Shipping won the mandate to sell the 138,208-cbm British Trader (built 2002), which has been traded by BP since its delivery.

Affinity said: “It is the owner’s intention to market the vessel in due course on the basis of a charter-free delivery upon redelivery from BP in November with the third special survey having been passed during the third quarter of 2017.”
