The CSBC-built, 73,000-dwt Nyon (built 1999) has been sold to a Chinese owner for a relatively strong $4.1m, according to sources. Last month, the Namura-built, 74,000-dwt Ever Shining (built 1999) was sold for the same price. Demolition value of the ship is only $3m but Chinese owners, in particular, are showing interest in late 1990s-built panamaxes.

Suisse-Atlantique chief executive Eric Andre confirms the ship is committed but has still to be delivered.
