John Fredriksen is starting to beef up his LNG interests and has initiated talks with shipyards on floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs).
Shipyard sources say they have had initial discussions on FSRUs with Fredriksen interests. Some refer to the Norwegian shipowner’s Seatankers Management company when referencing these and others to his LNG vehicle Flex LNG.
The size and number of units being considered have yet to materialise but they indicate that a quick decision could be made on the vessels and business firmed up possibly by next month.
