The traditional New Year cake called Vassilopita (St Basil’s pie in Greek), was blessed by an Orthodox priest, cut and shared out among staff in the company’s Athens office on 3 January.
Seven employees were lucky enough to found a flouri in their slices — token gold coins stashed deep into the pie before it is baked, symbolising the promise of good fortune in the new year.
