Sales speculation this week surrounded a brand new VLCC in the fleet of New York-listed Gener8 Maritime.
It is the second time in two months that broker chatter has circled to a VLCC in Gener8’s newbuilding programme, but once again well-placed sources say there is more hype than substance to the talk.
Some brokers had claimed the Hyundai Samho-built, 320,000-dwt Gener8 Ethos (built 2017) has already been sold to Pantheon for $81.5m.
