Golden Ocean’s 181,000-dwt KSL Santos (built 2014) has been fixed for 11 to 13 months to DHL at $13,250 per day with delivery in Taiwan.

By contrast, the former Hanjin Shipping-owned 179,000-dwt N Fos (built 2010) has been chartered by Rio Tinto for the same period but at $11,450 per day.

Brokers say DHL traditionally pays more and that Taiwan is a better delivery point than China for the N Fos.
