The 20,954-gt Alexo (built 1983) was previously in the fleet of Sweden’s AdMare Shipmanagement under the name Finnland.
Salamis Lines officials declined to comment on the purchase price.
However, Salamis Lines said in a statement it would employ the Alexo on the Lavrio-Limassol-Haifa route, replacing its previous ro-ro/cargoship there, the 17,900-gt Alios (built 1980).
Both the Alexo and Alios were built at the Rauma-Repola shipyard in Finland.
