Dr Christian Strahberger took on the mantle of chief executive at Schottel a little over a year ago amid a slump in merchant newbuilding orders and low freight rates across the board.
But he remains sanguine about the journey so far. “I knew what I signed up for,” he said.
Strahberger heads up one of the world’s leading manufacturers of marine propellers and steering systems, with applications ranging from tugs, offshore and other specialised vessels to ferries and cargoships.
