Classic Maritime has extended its charter of the CM Lemos capesize Heroic (built 2010) for 11 to 13 months.
The 182,000-dwt vessel is set to earn $11,250 per day compared with $12,000 per day on the previous charter.
This bulker and sistership Epic (built 2010) have been on charter since they were delivered from the Odense Steel Shipyard in Denmark. Each carried a price tag of $110m making them contenders for the most expensive capesizes ever ordered and brokers say they do not think the Lemos company Nereus will ever trade the ships profitably.
