Sources say the 3,351-teu Marina (built 1992) has been sold “as is” in Singapore for $329 per ldt, or $4.7m, including bunkers to its final destination.
Costamare bought the ship from Zim for $11.25m in September 2010.
Earlier this month, the New York-listed owner sold the 5,060-teu Romanos (built 2003) to India, reportedly for $7.5m.
Fleet age at 12 years
Costamare is listed with 64 containerships with an average age of 12 years and is in the process of taking delivery of five 11,010-teu newbuildings from Hanjin Heavy Industries.
