Cruise players have close to 20 large ships operating out of Chinese ports, targeting a domestic clientele.

The companies — ranging from Royal Caribbean Cruises, Genting HK’s Star and Dream Cruises brands, Carnival Corp’s Costa and Princess brands, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Chinese newcomers SkySea and Bohai Cruises — acknowledge that the sudden arrival of so many ships in such a short time has led to yield constraints and challenges But they consider it a temporary issue for the marketplace.
