Greek shipowner Dynagas is concentrating its efforts to enter the LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) sector on newbuildings rather than carrier conversions.

Speaking in a results briefing for listed Dynagas LNG Partners, chief executive Tony Lauritzen said it had been looking to convert its 150,000-cbm LNG carrier Clean Energy (built 2007) into an FSRU but had since secured a long-term charter on the vessel with Gazprom Marketing & Trading that did not require any capital expenditure.
