The Piraeus-based company has agreed to sell the 47,200-dwt medium-range-two (MR2) tanker Theano (built 1997), brokers say. The vessel is estimated to have changed hands for between $5.5m and $6m.
Managers at the Tomasos family-controlled firm were not available for comment by TradeWinds press time.
A move to dispose of the vessel would make sense. The chemical/products tanker is currently the oldest unit in Super-Eco’s fleet of 12 ships.
