Goldenport Marine Services, the services arm of Dragnis’ Goldenport Holdings, submitted a bid of approximately $3.5m for the 76,000-dwt Newlead Victoria (built 2002), according to documents submitted to the admiralty court of Malaysia.
The Athens-based owner is listed as having 12 bulkers and 11 containerships.
Arrest warrants
Four separate entities filed arrest warrants for the ship last December.
The arrest was taken over by the ship’s largest creditor, German bank Portigon, which is owed over $26m related to a loan financing the ship’s purchase.
