Dear Sir,

I read with some consternation your article, which makes several assumptions that collectively represent a significant misinterpretation of what constitutes best practice when it comes to condition-based maintenance (CBM) versus period-based maintenance. The article does CBM a serious disservice.

We can all agree that the effects of poor maintenance practices are costly and that many of the associated problems may not emerge immediately.
