Singapore shiprepair company Kim Heng Marine has arrested HRC Shipping’s 500-teu multi-purpose (MPP) Banga Barta (built 1983) in a claim that has a distinct feeling of deja vu.
Kim Heng is demanding that the Bangladeshi owner pay SGD 1.05m ($742,000) in repair bills and berthing fees and remove the ship from its yard.
The claim is almost identical to the one Kim Heng launched against the vessel in 2013 after it had been sitting at the yard since July 2011.
