The owner has been linked to a deal for four 1,700-teu ships at Jinhai Heavy Industries in Zhoushan.
But managing director Heinz Josef (Heino) Schepers makes clear that an imminent order is not on the cards.
“Discussions are ongoing,” he said. “But due to the current market situation, it was not appropriate to contract these newbuildings at the current freight rates.”
