Svein Steimler has also been given the role of representing the interests of the Japanese Shipowners’ Association (JSA) at the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).
He says he is proud to take on the role and ready to fight Japan’s corner, even though he might not exactly look the part.
“The only thing that will differentiate me from the Japanese is that I don’t look Japanese,” he said.
