Hartmann unveils ‘whale’ of a design for ethane ship

Shipping is a passion for Hartmann Reederei fleet manager and technical director Captain Ulrich Adami.

Rumour has it he came up with the radical design for the company’s ethane-carrying LEG (liquefied ethylene gas) carriers over breakfast one morning.

But Adami is not prepared to get that personal. “Shipping is my hobby,” he tells TradeWinds. “My profession is my hobby, so it is easy to work.”
